Mirza Mahmood Ahmad is a highly respected lawyer with over 30 years of experience and a reputation as a leading expert in capital markets, constitutional law, the oil and gas sector, and banking litigation. His career spans diverse legal disciplines, making him a well-rounded advisor to a wide range of clients, including financial institutions, corporations, and government bodies.
Mahmood has represented and advised prominent banks, brokerage houses, investment advisory entities, and other financial institutions. He is also highly regarded for his work in constitutional law and banking litigation, with a proven track record of successfully representing clients in high-profile cases before Pakistan’s superior courts.
He has served multiple terms as an elected director on the boards of several listed companies, including SNGPL and SSGC. Through these board memberships, Mahmood has gained a deep understanding not only of the legal aspects of the oil and gas sector, but also its commercial and management dynamics. He played a key role in the introduction and integration of LNG to supplement Pakistan’s natural gas supply, demonstrating his ability to navigate the complex intersection of legal, commercial, and operational matters within the industry.
A frequent presence before Pakistan’s superior courts, Mahmood also represents numerous companies before major regulatory bodies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the Pakistan Stock Exchange, and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority. His extensive regulatory and litigation experience in banking, constitutional law, and oil and gas has made him a trusted advisor for clients navigating complex legal landscapes.
In addition to his legal practice, Mahmood is deeply committed to education and thought leadership. He has served as visiting faculty at Quaid-e-Azam Law College and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), and has lectured at the Rausing Executive Development Centre at LUMS and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, where he has contributed to the training of directors in corporate governance.
Mahmood is also passionate about social responsibility. He regularly contributes pro bono work to support underprivileged communities and has founded Karmuqabla, an ed-tech startup focused on leveling the educational playing field, and Imkaan, a welfare organization dedicated to community development and outreach in Karachi’s less-affluent areas.

Saadullah Tahir is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience representing clients before various judicial and quasi-judicial forums. He has successfully handled cases before the High Courts and Lower Courts, including the Accountability Courts established under the National Accountability Ordinance of 1999. He also regularly appears before other fora such as the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and the Insurance Tribunal.
Saad’s diverse client base spans financial institutions, CEOs and Presidents of both private and public sector companies, private corporations, and state-owned entities. His expertise extends beyond litigation to structuring complex transactions, drafting contracts for local and international clients, and advising start-ups on regulatory compliance, corporate structure, financing, and intellectual property rights.
Before founding Mirza & Tahir, Saad gained valuable experience at top institutions. He began his legal career at one of Pakistan’s largest litigation law firms and later served as a law clerk at the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan, where he worked closely with former Chief Justice Mr. Justice (r) Anwar Zaheer Jamali.
Saad also pursued an LL.M. at a prestigious U.S. university as a Fulbright Scholar, selected as one of only four law students from a cohort of over 200. He then joined Minto & Mirza, where he led the firm’s practice in the oil and gas sector, as well as in accountability matters and commercial arbitration (both domestic and international).
